Whitley Hall in Sheffield is a fantastic venue for any wedding day with peacocks and stunning gardens.
I joined Katie getting ready with her bridesmaids and trying to avoid Luke in the hotel. Katie was very calm and helped all the smaller bridesmaids get dressed for their trip up the aisle. It was an opportunity not to miss to get an alternative shoe shot of the smallest bridesmaids shoes, they were just too cute!
Katie looked gorgeous in her gown with lace details and sparkles and her vintage hairband from Glitzy Secrets was just stunning. Everyone agreed that she looked much better than “fine”! The flowers provided by Monica Hewitt with green and white details were just amazing.
It was then onto the ceremony which was made more personal with readings, during the vows there was not a dry eye in the crowd, even the registrar asked for a tissue. Mr and Mrs Gayton then went outside for some Pimms in the gardens, at which point the sun appeared. Luke said he had ordered it especially!
After some enthusiastic confetti throwing and some family photos we moved further into the gardens with the happy couple giving them time to themselves and a chance to get some more photos.
The reception room was decorated with more green and white details and the mini chocolate favors looked very tempting. The speeches were great, Luke had his on his iPhone!
We spent a bit of time chasing after the resident peacocks with the children before the evening reception started with the first dance to the song “Accidentally in love” followed by the cutting of the lovely cake decorated with green ribbons and brooches.
We had a fantastic time, huge congratulations to Katie and Luke who make a lovely husband and “dwife”, lots of love and luck for your future together.
