It was a day at the races in York this Saturday for Sarah & Martin who had their wedding reception at York raceourse. I arrived in the morning to a gaggle of bridesmaids, makeup, crutches and croissants – nothing new there then!
Sarah wore a beautiful Berketex gown with lovely lace details and had a stunning cathedral length gown – perfect for St George’s Church’s grand setting for the ceremony. We arrived early so had a spare minute for an extra strong mint before the bells rung in Sarah to meet Martin. The ceremony was lovely and there was lots of laughs when the rings were too tightly tied to the cushion 😉
Guests climbed onto the vintage bus afterwards to go to the racecourse for some champagne in the sunshine. With view of the minster and the nearby chocolate factory the reception room was great filled with lots of personal touches and many, many sweets – yum!
Speeches were funny – we heard all poor Martin’s secrets! In the evening a magician entertained the crowds in the bandstand and later it was time for the all important bouquet toss before dancing the night away.
Have a fantastic honeymoon in Italy and we wish you both all the love and luck in the world as husband and wife.
