When I arrived in the bridal suite at Whitley Hall for Lisa & Simon’s wedding I was met with what looked like the interior of a hair salon complete with retro hair dryers and curlers everywhere, the room was buzzing with excitement. Lisa and her bridesmaids chilled out listening to Take That and eating sandwiches and strawberries whilst their hair was curled to perfection by Bridal Hairdressers UK.
Lisa’s dress was handmade by a family member and was stunning with lovely lace detail, there was even a matching hand bag! The bridesmaids dresses were all slightly different styles but the same colour which looked lovely. The flowers were gorgeous roses and freesias from Monica Hewitt.
Meanwhile, downstairs Simon and the grooms men were preparing to meet the bride, the sun began to shine as Lisa walked up the aisle with her dad. The ceremony included a lovely reading/recipe for marriage read by Lisa’s sister Kirsty.
The happy couple emerged into the sunshine outside for some photos and a well deserved catch up with guests that had flown in from all over the world.
The reception meal looked delicious, and the finishing touches looked gorgeous. The speeches were fantastic with two best men or should that be “not bad men” regaling the guests with all sorts of secrets about Simon. It was also revealed how the happy couple had met via a dating website!
The cake brought lots of laughs with tiny replicas of Simon fixing a VW golf and Lisa annoyed on the top of the cake. It was then time for some dancing to a brilliant band who kicked off the evening in style with some classic Dire Straits!
Lisa and Simon are a lovely couple and we wish them and their families happiness for the future.
