As Royal Wedding fever gripped the nation another fever was gripping the Pearson household where Katie was getting ready – shoe fever!
With a wedding outfit planned around the shoes themselves we were all keen to glimpse these beauties and they definitely didn’t disappoint – a stunning pair of coral Manolo Blahniks! I was truly in my element photographing them. Tissues were needed when Katie’s dad saw her for the first time in her gorgeous gown from Emily Bridalwear, beautifully accessorised with a hair piece from Imogen’s Imagination. Her veil was handmade by her wedding planner; Laura from Little White Book‘s mum.
It was all go in the house as the Sheffield Star arrived to interview Laura and the bride to be while the family munched on smoked salmon and champers.
The colour theme for the day was duck egg blue with the bridesmaids matching perfectly in their gowns, even the toenail varnish matched! The bouquets and buttonholes were provided by Swallows and Damsons on Abbeydale road, they smelt as gorgeous as they looked complete with rosemary and colourful rustic blue flowers and thistles.
Katie and her dad arrived in style in a cream Beauford to Weston Park where John was waiting patiently in the band stand. The sun was shining and there were many tears shed as the couple made their vows. With personal readings from friends the ceremony was lovely. Time for some more champagne and a quick stroll around the park for more photos afterwards. Both the band stand and the park itself are such an amazing location for a wedding – fit for a proper Sheffield princess!
The Rutland Hotel was the location for the reception and the room was dressed with lovely blue details, favour buckets, personalised name tags for the guests and set off by a beautiful cake provided by one of the guests. The speeches were great with the bridesmaids doing a fab slide show of embarrassing photos.
The evening reception kicked off in style with some rather fancy dancing followed by cake and a rather stunning sweet bar display for the guests to help themselves -a creation from Laura again. Its amazing what she can do with a bit of wood and some paint!
We left the couple surrounded by friends and family having a fantastic time. Katie and John are an amazing couple, so happy and in love. We wish you both all the best and hope you have a lovely time in the US!
