We were so excited to photograph Jon & Emma’s wedding for lots of reasons. Jon is Paul’s little brother and our little boy Stanley was going to be a pageboy – cue excitement over his outfit! It was also extra special as Paul’s older brother David, his wife Katy & our nieces Charlotte & India had come all the way back home from Australia for the wedding!
Jon & Emma got married in Dean Church – I grew up in this village in Cumbria so its very special to me -I spent many years playing there with my sister. The men were getting ready in Cockermouth – Lucozade at the ready! Emma was getting ready at her parents house in Pica. I joined them along with my gorgeous nieces Ruby & Charlotte who looked so cute in their dresses and we had lots of fun playing on Emma’s Dad’s digger and then had a serious discussion about who had the most petals in their baskets (don’t ask!)
Emma looked stunning in her gown with beautifully braided hair we just had time for a few photos in the sunshine before we all headed to the church in Dean. Katy played piano during the service which was very special and Emma’s sister Stacey sang during the signing of the register whilst the cousins rampaged around the church!
Afterwards there was confetti and Jon & Emma had to pay to get out of the gates at the church – tying the gates is a lovely tradition in Dean 🙂
The bridal party headed to Broughton Craggs Hotel for cake, bucks fizz and a chance to play on a bouncy castle 🙂 The reception room was dressed with lots of sweets and purple details (loved the sweet trees!) The speeches were fantastic Emma’s Dad made us cry and Jon’s Dad Steve made up a special poem for the couple 🙂
Later there was enthusiastic dancing and some karaoke rapping!
What can we say apart from the fact that we were honored you asked us to photograph your big day, we managed to enjoy being guests too and we are both so happy for you.
I’m sure you will have many years of love and happiness together – lots of love from us all
p.s – tomorrow I’ll blog some photos of the day after shoot we did with Jon & Emma at Crummock Water…
pps – Thanks so much to Emma’s Dad Geoff for bringing his tractor to the reception for everyone to admire – Stan LOVED it!
