Wow, what can I say to sum up this wedding day – stunning, emotional and funny as hell!
We met Clare & Dave two year’s ago at Clare’s (must mention younger!) sister Beth’s wedding – we knew then how great working with their family was so when Clare asked if we would make a trip to London for her wedding we were there like a shot 🙂
The wedding took place at the London Rowing Club in Putney – which was bedecked with bunting and flowers. We met both Clare and Dave in their respective hotel rooms nearby as they were getting ready. Clare was calmly sipping her tea after a particularly heavy night previously and Dave was keen to get the groomsmen gathered in the library for some fun photos.
This is what we love about Clare & Dave – their sense of humour. Clare was testing out whether her white heart shaped shades went with her stunning Ian Stuart gown meanwhile Dave and the groomsmen were playing chess in the library! Their choice of shoes was great, Clare with her sequin union jack flats and Dave in his glittery shoes. Dave’s suit was an amazing shade of purple and he accessorised it with a straw trilby for the walk to the venue!
Clare arrived in a white cab with her beautiful bridesmaids and wowed Dave with how amazing she looked. The ceremony was lovely with a Pam Ayres poem read out fantastically before they were announced husband and wife.
Luckily the sun stayed out for some photos with the family by the river before the guests piled onto a boat for yummy canapes and drinks.
We set sail for parliament where we got some great photos of the happy couple who could not resist their own “Titanic” moment! We waved at the tourists as we passed by the London eye.
Back at the Rowing club a pile of amazing cheese was assembled to be cut with a sword and the champagne flowed for the speeches. Dave ensured there was not a dry eye in the house with his heartfelt speech and then Beth showed everyone lots of embarrassing photos of the happy couple.
Of course no wedding day would be complete without a first dance routine which they pulled off with style.
A fabulous day for a truly great couple, thanks for making us feel like guests as well as photographers and we wish you both lots of happiness and laughter for the future
