Photographing a wedding in Sheffield City Centre is always exciting and the Cathedral Church of St Marie in the heart of the city is spectacular, a real hidden gem with stunning stained glass windows.
I met an excited Louise and her bridesmaids in Mercure St Pauls. We could spy Paddy from our window outside the pub across the road!
Louise looked stunning in her gown set off beautifully with pearl jewellery and a painful sixpence in her shoe! Paddy gave Louise an amazing watch and bracelet on the morning. St Marie’s Cathedral looked amazing and the wedding guests drew lots of admiring stares from passers by.
The ceremony was lovely and personal with readings, and candle lighting. Outside the sun had come out briefly so we managed to get some great shots in the Winter gardens and Peace gardens with the happy couple. There was just time for a quick Pimms before the wedding breakfast at Mercure St Paul’s Hotel. The speeches took place before the meal to calm nerves and particular highlights included a slide show of Paddy’s questionable dancing skills!
The evening party kicked off with the cutting of the tower of glittering cupcakes before the happy couple took to the floor for their first dance complete with bubbles!
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Lye, hope you have a fantastic honeymoon
