It was a gorgeous hazy spring afternoon at Whirlowbrook Hall in Sheffield for Ami & Craig’s wedding. I joined Ami and her gang of bridesmaids upstairs getting ready. Both families had spent so much time lovingly handmaking so many parts of their wedding day including creating a custom patch of buttons and lace which was sewed onto Ami’s stunning Maggie Sottero gown. Buttons and ladybirds were the order of the day with stunning button bouquets and the most impressive buttonholes we had ever seen with Star Wars characters on them – fab! Ami was even visited in the room by a tiny ladybird which seemed very fitting!
Meanwhile Craig arrived in style in a white Nissan GTR – very impressive arrival for a groom!
The ceremony was fantastic with personal readings and the happy couple emerged into the sunshine for a well deserved bacon butty and a cold cider! We managed to find lots of beautiful daffodils in the grounds for photographs before having the group photographs on the front lawn.
Inside the reception rooms were decorated with lots of buttons, sweets and retro props including tiny rubix cubes. Plenty to keep the guests occupied before the speeches. The speeches were fantastic including a special “wedding awards” ceremony too!
Upstairs the scene was transformed for the evening with the most amazing sweet table I have ever seen including homemade cake pops and cola bottles a plenty! Next door casino tables kept the guests entertained. Guests helped themselves to a hearty pie and peas supper before it was time for the first dance. The cake was a towering display of sponge cake and strawberries – it looked amazing.
We left the happy couple huddled on the dancefloor surrounded by their happy family and friends.
A huge congratulations to such a lovely couple – your wedding really reflected who you both are as people and we want to wish you both all the happiness for the future.
