Civil Partnership Fayre

A good few months ago I was asked by the Sheffield Pride Committee to put on their first ever Civil Partnership Wedding Fayre to help couples access all the help they need when planning their big day. Over the months I contacted several of my favourite suppliers – the best in the industry, to see whether they would like to exhibit. We were overwhelmed with the response and ended up with a select group that would allow our couples to find everything they needed under one roof to plan their partnership. Irwin Mitchell solicitors were the official sponsors of the tent.

As the day dawned months of planning turned into a reality as I witnessed the tent being constructed, despite a bit of early morning drizzle the sun shone on Endcliffe Park all day long.

The mood in the tent was set with arrival pink champagne, a goodie bag for guests and performances by Sax Factor; an amazing saxophone quartet. Tasty canapes were provided by Coco Catering and delicious morsels of cake were served by Cakes for all Reasons.

Halfway through the day my wonderful volunteer models took to the catwalk dressed in stunning gowns provided by Danielle Lara Couture, suits were provided by Kudos Menswear (based in La Bella Brides). The models carried gorgeous bouquets and buttonholes provided by Orchis Floral Design.

Everyone agreed it was a fantastic day and a huge success, I was even approached to stage a civil partnership live on stage for two men who couldn’t wait to declare their love. Of course it was not legally binding, I can’t add being ordained to my list of credentials!

It was a wonderful but tiring experience, which I will definately do again – roll on next year!!
