Love is sweet

Today’s Wedding Wednesday post is dedicated to those of you with a serious sweet tooth! The last wedding we photographed had an absolutely amazing display of sweets available for guests to munch on in the evening and it occurred to me that having a sweetie bar/tuck shop/dessert table is becoming seriously popular at weddings.

We have seen it all from fizz whizz to giant cake pops to the classic cola bottle and we have sampled a fair few sweets – it’s all part of the shooting process 😉

So I’m showing off some of the amazing displays we have seen at recent weddings.

The queen of sweetie displays in Sheffield is the lovely Jennie from Hansley Beard event planning and design. Jennie actually designs custom dessert bars for couples’ wedding days and her displays of vintage confectionery and labels are a work of art. Below you can see some images we took from a display Jennie did at the Vintage Bridal Soiree in Sheffield last year.

Vintage wedding lovers will be pleased to note that Jennie has opened up her own studio on Abbeydale Road where you can see her huge selection of vintage items you can hire for your own wedding day – tea set anyone? If you are planning a dessert bar or even a vintage themed wedding her shop is a must visit – she makes a good cuppa too!

We would love to hear from you about how you plan on personalising your wedding day  – what’s your favourite sweet? I would have to say I am partial to a strawberry bon bon or two and Paul loves a kop kop!
