Best of 2014

Wow, what a year 2014 was. We had some amazing weddings filled with lots of love and laughter. We headed back to some of our favourite venues for weddings at Wortley Hall, Whirlowbrook & Woodthorpe and some lovely new venues such as Smallshaw Farm Cottages .

There were some amazing wedding themes too – we loved Jess & Rick’s Mad Hatter theme and Verity & Adam’s Harry Potter theme and their amazing playdoh sculptures guests made of them during the meal! We loved the clay pigeon shooting at Emma & Andrew’s wedding and how can we forget a certain Arctic Monkey singing at Tom & Chloe’s wedding!

2014 was also the year Paul’s brother Jon got married to Emma in Cumbria – our beautiful son Stanley made a dashing pageboy and we all had an amazing day.

By far though the best moments for us are the little moments that stand out on a wedding day – proud Dad’s seeing their daughters in their wedding dresses, a wink from the groom as the bride walks up the aisle, tears during the speeches, bundling a bride’s dress into the back of a bus, ice creams in the wedding car waiting for the rain to go, singsongs in the car on the way to church, shared looks and kisses when no-one is watching, joyful dancing and happiness.

This is what our job is all about – we love it and want to thank all our lovely brides & grooms from 2014 – we love you all and can’t wait to see what 2015 brings!

A very Happy New Year to everyone

Helen & Paul
